Cornish squad members Chris Morgan, Paul Andrew and Tom Duncan visited Trewirgie Junior School last Friday.
The players enjoyed a busy few hours. Their stay involved rotating around a number of activities. There was food tasting and talking about their diet, a Q & A session and ball skills, were also practised in the gym. To end the day coaching was provided to the school’s gifted tag rugby teams.
Appreciating the support once again given to the school, teacher Mr. D. Williams said, “It was great for the children to learn first hand what is required to be a professional sports person and how developing the right ethos now is essential for future success”
The players shared their wealth of experience which was very inspiring for both pupils and teachers alike.
A lovely follow up to the visit was Regan Vinnicombe talking to the class about when his dad played for the Cornish Pirates.
Here are some quotes from the children
- “I think you should never give up” Regan
- “I learnt something about my diet” Marley
- “Mr. Williams mustn’t drink sugary drinks” Michael
